in this lab we are going to deploy a virtual machine in the template and after that we will going a cloning .
Task-1 ,create a virtual machine template
open your web client go to home>vm and template
go to the data center right click>new folder >new vm and template ,before cresating folder ensure that vm machine should be power off
give new name to the folder which you want to creating and click ok
now turn off the power of the vm which you want to make a template
right click on VM1-1 go to template and select convert to template
confirm it and click ok
Task-2 Creating customization specifications
go to home select policy and profile
click on create new specification logo
write the name of customization sec name and also select os which you want
set your password
select your time zone according to your city
after all the steps click on finish
Task-3 deploy a virtual machine from a template
go to vm template right click choose, new vm from this template
enter new name for your vm and after that expand data center icon and select labVMs folder and click next
select your esxi host for me i select a first one which is addressed by 172.20.10.51 and click next .
select iscsi storage and click next
in the clone option tick on ,customize the operating system and power on virtual machine after creation .
click on finish .
after that follow same steps for VM2-2
after that power on the vm and click on ,open console
set your ip address
select network location for me i selected a work network
Task-4 ,create a content library
go to home and select ,content library
enter name
in the storage section click on shared iscsi storage
click on finish .
Task-5 clone a vm template to a template in a content library
go to VM-Template right click and select clone to library
inside the filter tick on VM-library and out the name into template name section after that click ok
Task -5 ,Deploy a virtual machine from VM template in the content library
go to vmtemplate >vmtemplateLib>new vm from this Template
enter name and select location ,expand datacenter and select labVMs
select host, for me i selected 172.20.10.52 and click next
select storage local2-1
after finish this process power on the machine and select console button
after that insure that vmware tools are installed or not ,for check this go to the right hand side on the bottom click on arrow sign .
task-7 clone a powered-on virtual machine
select vm2-1 right click>clone>clone to virtual machine
enter the name of clone for me i put a Host-clone and select folder
select resource like-172.2.10.52
select iscsi storage
this is is the end of lab 11,
i faced some difficulties in iscsi storage ,but i increased the storage and it works properly
